The green industry is facing one of it’s largest challenges yet. A large part of our carbon dioxide emission can be traced back to the various stages of food production and the industry needs to evolve and change – now. By being active in the issues at hand, the Swedish Agricultural University (SLU) has a key role in the solving the problem, continuously presenting new findings from research in all areas of environmental sciences.
As a complement to these findings, there is a need to push them even further. To implement and develop them into new businesses, to make the ideas into reality. Time is up and we are facing a new world where innovation and entrepreneurship will, inevitably, be needed to change our industry.
That is why Sparbanken Skåne, through its ownership foundation Finn, Sparbanken Skaraborg and Sparbankstiftelsen Norrland, is investing in three innovation awards together with SLU Holding and the Swedish University of Agriculture
Do you work or study at SLU Alnarp and have an idea for a new product, service or method that can contribute to a more sustainable industry? Apply for the Innovation Awards and you can personally win up to SEK 150,000.
Submission of application closes 30 September 2026.
The award wants to limelight scientists, individuals, companies or organizations who has developed innovative and sustainable research projects or ideas in cooperation with SLU Skara.

Now SLU and the Upland Savings Bank Foundation are launching four innovation prizes that will encourage new ideas and entrepreneurship for a more sustainable and resilient green industry.
The aim is to accelerate the development of sustainable solutions in agriculture, forestry, food, animals and the environment – areas where SLU conducts world-leading research.
